Program Guidelines
- CEAP's Senior Chore Program locates senior citizens and disabled adults
from the community who are in need of services such as housekeeping, lawn
care, snow removal, and light maintenance. All work is dependent on worker
availability.
- CEAP does a criminal background check on all Independent Contractors;
we also check references.
- When a client calls in for service, CEAP attempts to assign an Independent Contractor to provide the service. For seasonal jobs, such as raking,
and lawn care, please call about 1 month before you expect to need the service.
- The current rate for service is $15 an hour with a minimun of one hour.
- The Independent Contractor will go to the client's home to complete
the job, at which time a Senior Chore Program Jobsheet will be filled out.
It is important for the client to approve the Jobsheet each time work is completed.
- Independent Contractors are to be paid by the client after the job
is completed. The Independent Contractor must not solicit tips.
- Absolutely no pre-paying is allowed through the Senior Chore Program.
- All jobs are to be cleared and pre-approved by CEAP Senior Chore Program
staff.
- The Independent Contractor has the right to refuse any job if they
feel they will be unable to complete it.
- If there are ever any disagreements between the worker and the client, CEAP
Senior Chore Program staff should be notified immediately.
- Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP), Senior Chore Program, and
the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging do not assume any liability or responsibility
for the client's participation in the Senior Chore Program. The client must
also recognize and understand that the worker providing services is an independent
contractor, and is not an employee or agent of CEAP. CEAP does not guarantee the work done by the Independent Contractor.
- NAPIS survey forms will be sent out once a year to all clients 60+ years
old receiving services and to every new client 60+ years old. The purpose
behind the NAPIS forms is to acquire information about the senior citizens
in our community, so that we can serve them more effectively. Please mail
the completed NAPIS form in the return envelope provided to CEAP.
